Question : Exchange 2003:  Number of Messages Sent & Received Reports and Statistics

We'd like to quickly and relatively easily create ad-hoc as well as regular reports showing total counts of number of messages sent and received (as well as size, total number of messages, frequency of access...) on our Exchange 2003 server mail box accounts.  We are looking for an 'easy' way to get these per account (mailbox) statistics.

We have SCOM 2007 in place and functional with the Exchange 2003 Management Pack for SCOM 2007 and the 'Top 100' reports are all functional.  We'd like to get at the raw data these 'Top 100' reports pull from but the MP is sealed so we can't walk through the report's logic.  Any advice on direct access methods to the SQL 2005 data warehouse storing this info would be appreciated.

Besides SCOM, any other recommended reasonably priced tools that would give us useful reports on account usage would be appreciated.

SCOM would not be much help in your case as the SQL database will also hold the information about only top 100s. There is some tool avaialbe by Quest software which can help you tracing reports for the mailboxes. You may want to contact their sales department directly from www.quest.com for pricing of the tool.
