Question : Restore exchange ntbackup to other location ; restore mails

We have 1 mail server, and backup every evening with ntbackup to a .bkf.

Exchange server = 2003 server SP2, Exchange is Enterprise SP2.

How (please in detail) can i restore this backup to an alternate location (not directly on the production/live exchange database)  & restore separate mails.

In ntbackup, i cannot choose an alternate location, and i don't want to overwrite the production database.

The tag to overwrite is on the existing mailbox store. It is on the Database tab and is called "This database can be overwritten by a restore" and should not be selected.
