Question : Cannot connect to Exchange SMTP from outside intranet
Hi,
I have a single machine Exchange 2003 set up. It has been configured to be closed for relaying unless the computer is authenticated. I am connecting to it through POP/SMTP on Outlook 2003. I selected the option "My outgoing server requires authentication" and left the option as same credentials as incoming server.
The Outlook client works fine when I am connecting to it internally through local IP. But when I dial up and connect to it through public IP, I am able to download mail but not allowed to relay when sending email.
I have a PIX firewall but the POP and SMTP ports for my exchange servers are already opened.
Any ideas?
