Question : Replace hinges on laptop

Have a compaq presario laptop, about 5/6 years old. The hinges on the display side or wore out and the display side will not stay up unless it is propt up any help would be appreciated.

As stated a little more about your laptop especially model # etc would be helpful.  
I've replaced many hinges in my time, and they can vary from model to model.  
And what ricknick says is true...just all depends...

This site above has some GOOD walkthru's for SOME compaq presario hinge replacements.  I LOVE this site.  they have repair documentation for many different laptops!
