Question : DTC between windows server 2008 (WEB) & Windows Server 2000 (Standard)
I have a web server running on Windows Server Web 2008 and a database server running on Windows Server Standard 2008. When initially trying to perform transactions from a WCF service with failure I decided to use DTCPing to establish what the problem was.
I am unable to successfully invoke RPC from on database server from the web server however the database server is unable to sucessfully invoke RPC on the web server. Firstly how do I resolve this error. The firewall service is disabled on both servers.
I have installed the Application Server --> Distributed Transactions on the Database Server however I cannot find this option on the web server. Is this required to successfully use DTC.
