Question : How do I have the area code populate without entering it each time

I need to  enter 3 phone numbers on each form.  Rarely it is out of state.  How can I have the area code populate but retain the ability to over-ride if out of state?  I am using (xxx) xxx-xxxx format.  Thank you.  Lyn
