Question : OUTLOOK 2003 RETURNS THIS ERROR MESSAGE WHEN ATTACHING A PDF FILE - MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD, THE OPERATION FAILED
Hello, I have a user who is trying to attach a PDF file to a new message created in Outlook 2003. The PDF file size is 574 KB. Our attachment file size (sending & receiving) is 20 MB. When the user tries to attach the file the following error appears:
Microsoft Office Word
The operation failed.
I have tried going into add/remove programs and modifying the Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 program to uninstall the PDF maker for outlook. That was unsuccessful. I tried clearing out the temporary file folder for outlook and that was unsuccessful. I am able to attach other PDF files and other documents types (Word, Excel, etc). I have to copy the document to the desktop and attach it from there, that was unsuccessful. I am not sure why this document is giving the user trouble. I can open if successfully, I just can't get it to attach! I was going to try uninstalling Adobe, but thought I'd try to get another solution before I tried that. Any help I can get would be appreciated! Thank you very much in advance, have a really nice day.
Answer : OUTLOOK 2003 RETURNS THIS ERROR MESSAGE WHEN ATTACHING A PDF FILE - MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD, THE OPERATION FAILED
As it turns out, the user had used a # in the document name. Using that special character caused the error. I am not sure why! however, deleting the # from the document name solved this issue. Have a nice day!
