Question : Outlook - Unable to connect to mailbox (error 0x8004011D)

Environment/Configuration:
Exchange 2003
Outlook 2003 configured to connect to exchange server but deliver mail to local PST file.

Symptom:
Unable to connect to mailbox using Outlook.  Upon opening Outlook, as it attempt to connect to the server, the Outlook Send/Receive Progress dialog box appears.  After a few seconds the Errors tab displays the following message:
Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004011D) : 'The server is not available.  Contact your administrator if this condition persists.'

More Info:
- The user has access to his mailbox using OWA.
- The user is able to access all other network resources.

Things I've tried with NO success:
- Deleted & Recreated user's outlook profile
- Renamed & Recreated user's windows profile
- Configured outlook on another system for user

After providing myself permissions, I was able to access the user's mailbox from my Outlook profile by adding his mailbox to my list of mailboxes.

One more item of interest:
This problem began while the user was on travel to Europe.  Coincidentally, another user that traveled to Europe is having the same problem.  Both users started in Toulouse, France and were able to access their mail with no problems via a VPN connection.  The problems didn't start until a couple of days later after they separated.  The user that recently returned to our office traveled to Bristol, UK after leaving Toulouse.  It appears the problems began around the same time for both users.  They are the only users on my network having this problem.

Any assistance or ideas you can provide are greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Michael

Answer : Outlook - Unable to connect to mailbox (error 0x8004011D)

With so many things on my plate, I never reviewed the logs on our local Exch server until your suggestion.  Upon review, I found the following:
Event ID: 9646
Mapi session "/o=xyz/ou=xyz/cn=Recipients/cn=last, first" exceeded the maximum of 32 objects of type "session".

Although I found there appear to be methods of resolving this w/o dismount/mount store, I went for the opted to dismount/mount for speed.

PROBLEM RESOLVED.

evan021702, I appreciate all your help.

Best Regards,
Michael
