Question : Retrieval of deleted messages, no longer in "deleted items".

Email messages were deleted within Outlook Express and are no longer available when directly connecting to the host server.  The option within OE to leave a copy of the messages on the server was not selected when the messages were removed.  The deleted items box has subsequently been emptied.  (Recycle bin is also empty).  I was wondering, is there a method to recover the messages deleted in this fashion?
