Question : Exchange 2003, Juniper and barracuda outgoing email through secondary IP
|
|
Hi
I have a new Barracuda 300. Currently running Exchange 2003 and Juniper SSG140 firewall. Email working ok. I want to 'route' outgoing email through a secondary public ip. Meaning, e.g Main public ip 10.10.10.10 other public ip's 10.10.10.11-15 internal barracuda (nat) ip 1.1.1.47 internal exchange server ip 1.1.1.50
Inbound port 25 to barracuda working fine. I currently have Barracuda scanning outgoing email as well. I want all outgoing email to go through public IP 10.10.10.15 We had a blackisting issue on ip 10.10.10.10 about 3 months ago and a couple of those sites will not delist us. We have a bunch of vpn's and other services going through 10.10.10.10 so changing would be a pain. and yes, eventually I'll want to separate vpn's from the main ip, but that's a different issue.
ideas?

Answer : Exchange 2003, Juniper and barracuda outgoing email through secondary IP

Setup a smarthost on the exchange server to forward the outgoing traffic to the barracuda. Configure the barracudas default gateway as one of the other public IPs. This way the barracuda will deliver the mail through its own default gateway.
