Question : RDP wont connect, no error message

I have a XP Pro machine (computer A) that i am trying to connect to using RDP.  The remote desktop feature is enabled, the remote desktop is set as an exception in the firewall and I have checked the registry to make sure the port number is correct.   However, when i try to connect to that machine, the RDP connection screen on computer B will just flash and return back to where it is waiting for you to click connect again.   There is no error message.   If I put in a different port number after the machine name i get an error message, but when i try to connect to the RDP port i get no error message.    I can also telnet into the rdp port and make a connection to computer A.

Believe it or not - It is your graphics card, or better the driver.
Update your graphics driver !
I had the exact same problem and it drove me nuts, downloading a new driver solved me problem!!
