/etc/fstab file has the required CDROM settings like /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 0 0 Also using the mount command: mount -t iso9660 -r /dev/cdrom /mnt The error message was not a valid block device. How should we go about with it?

You may need to install the module for your cdrom drive.find the type of your cdrom drive and install the approriate module.Good luck
