Question : How to display X window desktop via Exceed

Hi Question using Exceed, Red Hat / PC . Red Hat 8, XFree86, Gnome. I have oprational Exceed running on PC and DISPLAY set correctly on RED HAT , I can conjure up single applications (web browser) via Exceed from my Linux box to my PC screen, but I want to be able to see ALL dektop screen and icons. On Solaris this command is dtwm & What is Red Hatt corresponding command? Regards, mativare

What connection method are you using from Exceed? (Telnet, XDMCP,...)
To get a full desktop the XDMCP method is recommended. This will require running a display manager on the Linux box. GDM is the display manager for GNOME and it should be configured to allow network logins.
For telnet try the command "DISPLAY=@D /usr/bin/gnome-session &
