Question : Keep getting "booted" off the network...

Running Windows XP SP3. I keep getting "booted" off the network.  I say "booted" because I get an Offline Files balloon telling me I'm working offline, and my mapped network drives show that there are no files and 0 bytes used.  I also lose my ability to connect to the SQL server instance running on that machine using the SQL Management Studio, which is connecting via named pipes.  After a little while it will suddenly pop back up saying that the server is available for reconnection, and I can click on synchronize and several minutes later it will finish (even if no files have changed) and I'm back on.

My actual network connection does not get interrupted tho.  I can still browse the internet and connect to other computers on the network.  I cannot, however, connect to anything on the server, which is running Win2003 Standard.  This computer is the only one on the network that has this problem - all the other machines are able to connect fine.  It's not a firewall issue as the Windows firewalls are turned off on both the desktop and the server.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?  I'm stumped...

I would then uninstall and reinstall TCP/IP in the NICs configuration. If that doesn't work, you may have a driver that appears sutiable, but isn't for your NIC. It might be a good idea to download the NIC driver from the manufacturer's websiite than rely upon Microsoft's updates to install a driver for you.

Is this a multihomed client? Also, are there any event logs on the client saying a master browser can't be found, an election is being forced?
