Question : Connnect to internet on Solaris 10
|
|
I am a newbie on Solaris as I have just installed Sun Solaris 10.
I want to connect to the internet.
It does not seem to be as straightforward as accessing a Network Connection Wizard and adding your IP, DNS etc. and get going as in Linux.
Strangely, There is no file as /etc/reslov.conf where I can configure IP. /etc/nsswitch.conf is there
How do I connect to internet using Solaris10

Answer : Connnect to internet on Solaris 10

The file /etc/resolv.conf should be there, or you may create it using vi. Here sample:
domain mymomain.com nameserver ipaddress1 nameserver ipaddress2 nameserver ipaddress3
you may modify /etc/nsswitch.conf to have dns resolve FQDN
hosts: files dns
You may add your default router ip in /etc/defaultrouter
