Question : Allocating memory to increase performance in PhotoShop and Illustrator
I think I might need to allocate or reallocate(?) memory, but I can't remember how to do it. The reason I think it's the memory is that my home computer and my work computer both have 512 MB RAM but the work computer seemed WAY more efficient - never had graphics trouble with it. At home though, Illustrator is redrawing when I zoom etc....

Go to Edit > Preference .> Memory and Image Cache. You can define Physical memory Usage. You must also define Scratch disks, by going to Scratch Disks option in the Preference dialog box and assigning the hard drives to be used as first, second, third , and fourth scratch disk.
