Question : Secutiy tab and summary tab missing on the file

I am able to access all the  files in a  folder  except  one file . it gives the error " access denied"  when i checked the properties, i found only general tab . The security tab and the summary are missing . All the other files have these tabs in that folder and the  OS is windows 2003 server .

What should i do to get back these tabs  back and make it accessible .

Answer : Secutiy tab and summary tab missing on the file

Login as administrator or a user with rights on the folders. Right click the folder where the file exist, got to properties, select security tab click advanced button, select owner tab, Select a click on the owners userid  listed there, select the check box replace owners of subfolders and objects. click apply and click ok. Now you can select the file properties select security click add select the users you need permission, click apply and ok
