Question : Reports for fast printing by dot matrix printer
|
|
I have a daily report which now produces 5000+ pages. 2 years ago, there were around 100+ pages per day. So we were happy to print it out using a Laser printer. I am asked to modify this report so that it can be printed more faster by using a bigger line matrix printer such as one from Genicom.
My question is that I don't know how to change the report so that it can be printed by the line printer. Do I need to remove all horizontal/vertical lines, graphics? What about fonts? Anything else would also be appreciated.
Thank you very much

Mr_Peerapol this is a question i am not sure there are any answers around but over a period, i have found following solution to the problem over the period
Its a bit simple trick we follow as below:
1) Install a Epson LX300 or Epson LX300+ Printer 2) Set this printer as defaut for temperory basis on devlopment machine 3) After installation of this printer following fonts will be installed on your machine Draft 12CPI / 10 CPI .... Roman 12cpi / 10 cpi... 4) design report selecting Epson LX300 Printer and draft fonts
Note : The limitation here you will have is all the reports will be printed for 80 coloumn Stationery. But if your report is 132 Column stationery, then you need to install Epson LX 1050 Printer, design report using that printer.
Save the report.
It does not make any difference if you change the printer at run time, you will see the same dot matrix result.
