Question : Outlook doesn't open new empty mail anymore
|
|
Today, without any error message Outlook (2002) on my XP system can't open a new empty message to write or a window in which to write a reply. The program tries to open a window, but nothing happens. According to Task manager the program runs and is using 2 windows. Memory is not burdoned by any significant activity. This started during the day, before it started I send out some messages without any problem. Incoming mails pose no problem.
I did a 'repair' routine, but that didn't help.
What can it be?

So you have another copy of windword.exe open. Closing it fix the problem. Renaming or deleting normal.dot file usually fixes this type of problem.
1. Yes, it is better to install whole office 2007. You should uninstall Office 2003 first
2. Install Outlook 2007 should pick up your files and settings from old Outlook. To be safe, backup the data from C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Microsoft\Outlook and C:\Documents and Settings\\\Microsoft\Outlook folders.
