Question : w3svc iis 6 wont start -2147467262

I am posting this as a question simply because I cannot find a question where this has been answered.

I came across this error when my IIS server just stopped working. SMTP / FTP ... all still worked by W3SVC would constantly report the error code listed above when trying to start the service.

After enough searching around I eventually came across some bright spark who posted a fix that actually worked.

I my self could rectify the problem by the following command
regsrv32 c:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll
Now IIS restored to its normal condition.

Hey it worked for me, so I figured it should be listed as a solution on EE.
