Question : 0x80072F0D Error on Mobile Device when trying to sync with Exchange 2007

Hello,

We have a Windows Mobile device that we are trying to sync with our Exchange server. We have had a number of problems but it looks as if we are at the last hurdle! When trying to sync the device with Exchange 2007 we get the error 0x80072F0D.

The device is on a blackberry style mobile contract i.e. the e-mails are 'pushed' to the device.

The error message is "The security certificate on the server is not valid. Contact your Exchange Server administrator or ISP to install a valid certificate on the server."

We already have a certificate on the server and can access OWA through SSL but how do we resolve this issue?

I have read some posts that suggest installing the certificate on the mobile device. I have tried this by copying the certificate from the Exchange server on to the device and installing it but it still displays the same error when trying to sync.

Answer : 0x80072F0D Error on Mobile Device when trying to sync with Exchange 2007

Those certificates are not trusted natively by Windows Mobile. You will need to download the root certificate from the issuer and then get that on to the device.
The most reliable method is cabinet file: http://www.amset.info/pocketpc/certificates.asp
