Question : Pocket PC and Vista - Sync over the Internet

Hi

I am trying to sync my pocket pc with Windows Vista remotely.

I know that Intellisync allows me to have my Outlook sync with my pocket pc over the internet (using either GPRS or WiFi) but it doesnt seem to work under Vista

Is there a way to have my Pocket PC sync with my Outlook via the Internet so that I can get my emails etc while travelling?

Thanks

Gavin

Answer : Pocket PC and Vista - Sync over the Internet

Are you using POP3 or Exchange?

With Exchange, you can simply use Exchange's ActiveSync on the server side.

With a POP3 client, you still use ActiveSync, but setup is a little different...see here:  http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/articles/pocket_email.mspx

All settings are done on the Pocket PC, not in Vista.  Vista's Mobile Device Center is used instead of ActiveSync 4 on the PC side, but that is only for direct syncing via cable or bluetooth, not for over the internet syncing.
