Question : SQL - Workgroup / Standard Upgrade question

i read this through ee/kb

reading "zcrammond" (wrote) comment.

my questions:
in the subject - comments,
which version was it? (sql workgroup or sql standard) i am confused!

if buy sql2005 workgroup (5-cal) do i uninstall SQL Management Studio Express still?
or was that the sql standard version that was discussed in that regarding to uninstall management studio express?

I know for sure we will be working on the in-place upgrade (without changes name instance) the concern is, which version require to uninstall management studio express?

Answer : SQL - Workgroup / Standard Upgrade question

You will need some downtime ...
you will also need to apply Service Packs etc ....

Workgroup and Standard are pretty much the same (same to install) the feature differance between the two can be found on the Microsoft website

I would go standard ..  as in the past when I have priced the two options they work out the same as you couldnt get workgroup without software assurance ...
