Question : Uninstalled VMware Server from Virtual Centre server, now virtual centre service will not start
Hi, I previously had some VM's running on the same server as where I have my Virtual Centre server. I migrated them all away, and figured I might as well uninstall vmware server. However, now that I have done that, something has gone wrong with SQL, which is preventing VC service from starting.
If I reboot the server, when I log on I get "sqlmangr.exe - The application has failed to start because msvcr71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem".
Now, I can't just go reinstalling sql, there is a lot of data there which I need. I'm wondering if I need to re-register the DLL (I've tried doing it in a couple of different locations, no dice, but maybe I need to be in the right place) or if there is something else I can do to fix this easily. It seems like it shouldn't be a hard problem, but it's late in the day on Friday afternoon and my brain isn't working too well. Thanks.
