Question : error 1053

I have a software including Sybase, but in the window Sevices, the SQL Anywhere PEGSYS_DB_SERVICE cannot start.

The error message is

Could not start the SQL Any Where - PEGASYS_DB_SERVICE service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Any suggestion?

Answer : error 1053

It sounds as if it may not be installed or installed properly.  Have a look in the Windows error logs using the log viewer to see if you see any more detailed errors / check for log files in the apps directory.
