Question : Photoshop CS2 & Bridge Thumbnail problem
|
|
My sister has a problem with Photoshop CS2/Bridge Thumbnails.
She is very au fait with computers & Photoshop & researching on the Web, but has not been able to find a solution.
She upgraded Photoshop from v4 to CS2, which included Bridge. After installation, she could no longer see any thumbnails of jpg's, psd, tiff etc in Windows Explorer, only the Photoshop symbol would show. The only way to view thumbnails of the images would be to open Bridge. She read forums online and the problem seems common, a glitch in the software. She tried one of the suggested remedies, to insert a particular file into the Photoshop software, but that didn't work. She then tried uninstalling Bridge, but it made no difference, so she had to reinstall it so she could see the images. Gif's appear as normal in Explorer. She does not wish to uninstall Photoshop as it is an upgrade and it was tricky to install, needing a phone call to Adobe to make it upgrade from version 4 to CS2.
She runs Win2K Pro SP4 with an AMD 950MHz Duron with 768MB of RAM, 120GB HDD, etc. The Photshop details you already know.
If more info is needed, please don't hesitate to ask.
Regards,
IHTurbo.

Answer : Photoshop CS2 & Bridge Thumbnail problem

WinXP having been installed, all the apps have been reinstalled & Lo!, the problem has disappeared.
As suspected, moving to WinXP has solved the problem. We have yet to see if this is permanent or temporary.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I think we'll have to reserve the points for another time.

IHTurbo
