Question : Can Open Excel Files but keep getting a pop up says:"File Not Found"

I had received a "File Not Found" error message in Excel when I open a file by double-clicking the file name. I even try the following solutions
(1) from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/207574.
(2) Use the /regserver switch to re-register the application, which will recreate all of the application-specific Registry entries and it also recreates the file associations. Hit Start-->Run and type   excel /regserver

Both of the solutions are not doing me any good.  Please help.

Answer : Can Open Excel Files but keep getting a pop up says:"File Not Found"

Another possibility is the path is too long. Excel cannot open a file that is located such that the entire path length including the file name is greater than 218 characters. When attempting to do so Excel displays the error:

"full\path\to\file.xls" could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct.

This error will occur regardless of how Excel is instructed to open the file. There is no known workaround other than to change the location of the file or shorten the folder names in the path.
