Question : Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini the system cannot find the file specified
I have only one DC server running server 2008std. This is the only server in my domain. All clients are running XP. Two nics on server with one disable. I have home folders setup and map drives to clients PC's by way of Group policies. For the past few days, my xp clients tend to loose connection to the home folder or the map drives. The event viewer on the clients pcs says:Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini the system cannot find the file specified...........
I've combed everywhere for solution but all to avail and I was wondering if someone have a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance.
Answer : Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini the system cannot find the file specified
In my case it was it was the user permissions on the root drive ie c:. After assigning the right user permissions on the C drive the error message stop appearing and GPO settings had worked flawlessly since then.
