Question : DHCP database corruption
|
|
Windows Server 2003 STD SP1 with Active Directory - DC - DNS Server - WINS Server - DHCP server.
I am troubleshooting DHCP server errors (Event 1014, DHCPserver - Jet errors -1022, -1032, and -524) in the system log and ESENT errors (Event ID 215, Logging/Recovery, Event ID 485, General - both referring to tcpsvcs.exe(2716)). I restored DHCP.MDB from a backup yesterday and continue to get errors today. I browsed the newsgroups and the Microsoft knowledgebase. What I found applied only to WIndows NT and 2000. Where can I find information on generating a new DHCP database in Windows Server 2003 AD, and/or uninstalling and reinstalling DHCP services in Windows Server 2003 AD? Error info is listed below.
Event 485 narrative... tcpsvcs (2716) An attempt to delete the file "C:\WINDOWS\System32\dhcp\backup\old\New Folder" failed with system error 5 (0x00000005): "Access is denied. ". The delete file operation will fail with error -1032 (0xfffffbf8).
Event 215 narrative... tcpsvcs (2716) The backup has been stopped because it was halted by the client or the connection with the client failed.
Event 1014 narrative excerpts (the full narrative is very verbose)... Jet database -1032: Jet database read or write operations failed. Jet database -524: Jet database read or write operations failed. Jet database -1022: Jet database read or write operations failed.

I am having the same problem too. Your post is the only one I have found ever dealing with this error. I have tried restoring the database from backup and that does not seem to work. I think we maybe left with only one choice, deleting our scopes and recreating them.
Sorry I couldn't help.
