Question : Email bouncing from email with same domain...
We have a SBS2K3 on a network (location A) with the domain email abc.com. This company also has a parent company (location B) with the same abc.com email domain. Both companies are pulling POP3 (not the best idea I know but customer wishes) from abc.com. The problem we are having is when a user at location A sends an email to someone at location B the email bounces. I believe the reason is because the SBS is trying to send the email internal and can't find the specified user. Is there something we need to change on the server to "know" that an email with the same domain is not technically on the domain?
Answer : Email bouncing from email with same domain...
I realize that this question is a bit old, but thought I'd provide the answer anyhow... it's not nearly as complicated as described above.
