Question : Configure OWA for exchange 2003 on SBS as the Root of a new website
|
|
Ok, I have a small business server 2003 with exchange loaded and running.
Currently OWA (Outlook Web Access) is loaded as a virtual directpry to the default site.
What i need to do is configure OWA on its own website seperate from the current virtual directory.
I want webmail.mydomain.com to drop directly into the OWA and currently if i did this, it would drop into the default website, which provides allot more access to our netwrk than the managment wants to allow.
How should i configure OWA to accomplish this.

This is SBS - you shouldn't change anything from the default with SBS. Why do you want to remove OWA from the default web site? It will cause you more problems than you can imagine as it is tightly integrated. I actually do not think Microsoft support OWA outside of the default web site. It may also stop other features working such as RPC over HTTPS (Outlook over the Internet) and Windows Mobile device support.
Simon.
