Question : Moving All Public folders from Exch 2003 to Exch 2007

Hello,

I am in process of transition from Exch2003 on Win 2003 Std. to Exch2007 on Win 2008 Std. I have to say it is 'fun'.

After moving all users I have this problem:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_23631725.html

Now, I am not sure how much time moving a small Public folder should take.
These are the instructions I am following: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb331970(EXCHG.80).aspx

I used ESM Exch2003 to move All Replicas. A message popped up stating that to verify the folder contents have been moved I should check whether the 'Public Folders Instances' folder is empty.
It is now more than 24 hours since I started the process. In the Public Folder Instances there is one folder exchangev1 sitting with Folder Path schema-root-microsoft-exchangev1 which means the folder was not moved entirely.

Should I wait more or should I assume it is another error, and maybe related to the previous problem?
Can I force the move of Public Folders somehow?

Thank you.

Answer : Moving All Public folders from Exch 2003 to Exch 2007

It sounds as if you have all the users switched over to the new server.
I understand....It can be rather nerve-racking.I have been there myself. You can leave the old server up as long as you wish. All you have to do now is uninstall the Exchange server 2003 by using add/remove programs and, once completed, shut down the server.
