Question : Exchange 2007 Anti-Spam event errors
Hi,
I'm getting lots of red event errors on my Windows 2008 server running Exchange 2007:
Error 1:
Log Name: System
Event ID: 20
Task Category: Windows Update Agent
Level: Error
Description:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise Anti-spam Signatures v3.3.7727.975.
Log Name: System
Event ID: 20
Task Category: Windows Update Agent
Level: Error
Description:
2: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise Block List Updates v3.3.7728.012.
We actually have anti-spam on Exchange disabled as we run all our email through a 3rd party scanner for anti-spam and anti-virus, so its not needed at all. I would have thought that disabling the anti-spam would stop the machine trying to download updates, but now these red errors are becoming frustration and I can't figure out how to disable / remove / clear these event errors.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you are not using the agents, uninstall them. That will stop the errors. you can install it at a later time if you want to.
