Question : Moving users to different location with Folder Redirection enabled
|
|
We have different sites that have their own GPO's enabled to redirect the files of users to local servers on each site. The problem that I'm having is when one user move from site A to site B his/her documents still try to synchonize to site A. Sites are in different physical locations so leaving the synchronization on site A is not the best choice.
I've done GPUPDATE.exe to update the policy on the user and restart several time with no success. How can I configure so this is possible and is a smooth procedure? Our users move from sites to sites every now and then and is a real problem. Folder redirection works fine the first time but the moment that a user moves to a different site it becomes a nightmare. HELP!
Thank!

If you are needing to point the users that moved to a share located on a server at the location they moved to:
I don't know a way to get around the need to move the user account to the new OU with the correct policy, moving the data, and refreshing the policy w/gpupdate /force.
Sometimes a couple reboots is required for the new settings to take effect too.
