Question : LSA problems

I got a message saying that my system was going to shut down in 50 seconds due to a NT system.... It did just as it said it would and then rebooted. When it was all loaded i got the classic windows send error report window saying that the LSA Shell (export version) had encountered an error and had to shut down. Does anyone know what happen to my system and why it it shut down with that error? Im cluless and it is doing it frequently. The shut down menu said that NT Authority\system had encountered an error and was shutting down. The file that was in the error report was c:\windows\system32\isass.exe
any idea?  Anything will help.

Answer : LSA problems

Hi gdewrell,

First of all, lsass.exe is a normal systemfile, it's needed for windows to run. The sasser virus only exploids a hole in lsass.exe but uses a different filename for the virus itself.

Second of all, as you have winXP, enable the firewall, see if the problem then still exists.

Greetings,
