Question : Windows XP trouble after attempting to Unistall HP OfficeJet G55 printer software.

The uninstall process nearly finished when it stopped with a serious error (don't remember what it said) then I rebooted. I first noticed that all user login account icons changed and nearly all desktop icons disappeared; save for a couple default programs, and all programs on the start menu were missing except for Microcrap applications, such as Microcrap Office but which were empty. I think the worst thing is that I lost many many pictures. I have tried system restore but with no successful fix for specific problem. I ran two different online virus scanners (McAfee and Trend Micro) and found no viruses. (The HP OfficeJet G55 printer software is by far the worst program I have ever dealt with!)
Money is an object. Somebody please help.

Thank you (in advance)
