Answer : Alert Error number for job failed and successfull

208 is the event number of the record in windows event log; apparently it's not what the alert is using.

If in enterprise manager you click on the ellipsis of the error number and then switch to the tab "search" you can search for a number whose message would be related. I searched for "job" and found some messages, the most promising of which was 14570, "(Job Outcome"). However, it did not fire when I tried. You can try it, or pick up another message.

That said, why you don't want to set the notification in the job itself as I suggested, without involving alerts?
