Question : I want to stop accepting Invalid Email
I just installed our new Barracuda Spam unit. I configured it and it is working properly but when I test the config I get the following message. Your mail server is accepting invalid email. To improve the performance and accuracy of the Barracuda Spam Firewall, please configure your mail server to not accept email to invalid recipients and/or domains. You may also want to verify your LDAP server configuration.
How do I change that?
Thanks
Answer : I want to stop accepting Invalid Email
Are you using an Edge server?
If not then you have to install the antispam agents as recipient filtering is part of that.
I haven't written an Exchange 2007 version of my article for recipient filtering, but the base method is (these are very rough instructions, not up to my usual standards):
1. In powershell, change to the following directory (presuming default locations) C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Scripts
2. Then use tab to select install-AntispamAgents.ps1
3. Run that and restart Exchange 2007 EMC.
4. Then go to Organisation Configuration, Hub Transport and select the Anti-spam option.
5. Disable every option (as they are enabled by default) except for recipient filtering.
6. Go in the the properties of recipient filtering and enable the option "Block messages sent to recipients not in the global address list" on the Blocked Recipients list. Apply/OK out.
7. To get the change to take, restart the Microsoft Exchange Transport Service.
