Question : Error ID: 5018 (0000139a) error in Exchange 2003 Cluster - System Attendant

Created a test lab environment to cluster exchange 2003 in a two node cluster environment.  Created MSDTC group and configured it correctly.  Created the System Attendant followed by all other relevant services required for exchange.  In other words it was created successfully.  Out of curiosity, I deleted the exchange cluster group services to re-create the services as a learning experience.  Now I am coming up with this error every time I attempt to bring up online the System Attendant.  I get the following error.

Error ID: 5018 (0000139a).

Note:  This only occurs when the System Attendant in the Exchange Cluster resource attempts to come online.

I've done some research and something as close to any possibilities is that it's reached some sort of virtual server limitation in exchange.  My only idea is that the exchange servers still believe there was an existence of itself within its registry or configuration.   Any help fellas?

Have you had a look in the cluster log to see if there is any more information in there?
When you delete the Exchange resources it does not remove the information from AD.  The Exchange Virtual Server can be uninstalled in cluster admin (can't remember the menu item for that right now) and that will delete the information from AD.
If the information was left in AD then when you re-created the resources they will have used that data to configure themselves.  So it sounds like there is some corruption in that data in AD.  As this is a lab environment It might be best to manually remove Exchange and try again.  MS instructions for this can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833396
