Question : Sybase SQL Anywhere Database Engine Version 5.5.04 Data Migration

I want to migrate some data from a Sybase SQL Anywhere Database Engine Version 5.5.04 Build #1956 database to SQL Server 2005 (or 2008).
The problem is that I can't find any Sybase OLEDB  Provider in DTS Wizard's "Choose a Data Source" page.
I even tried to create a linked server to connect to this database, but it was not possible neither.
I searched www.sybase.com and also googled for the OLEDB  Provider, but I couldn't find anything useful. (Or I don't know the exact product name I'm looking for!)
Is there an OLEDB provider for Sybase or any other way that I can use to import the database to a usable form?

Yeah, you are probably stuck now that Oracle owns Primavera.

Unfortunately, unless you can get a hold of an old copy of ASA 5.5, you are probably stuck.

One approach would be to install the application (not the server) on the machine where you will run DTS.  You should then have access to the ODBC drivers and create a useful data source.

Of course, if you have the original installation disks, you can try installing the server side on the DTS machine as well.  Just don't fire up the database server;  Again, you should get the ODBC drivers with that installation.

Another approach is to actually purchase an old copy of ASA 5.5.   Check out the link below to a place called "retrosoft".  Evidently, they sell old software to folks like you.

$69 for ASA v5.5 will get you a full retail version.  That will have the ODBC drivers, though the last supported version of Windows for 5.5 was NT !!!

What platforms are the server and client running on?

Bill
