Question : Address Bar in Internet Explorer 6.0
|
|
Okay heres what I got... In Internet Explorer lets say I type in the address "google.com" or "www.google.com" it wont go anywhere, however if I type the address "http://www.google.com" then it will go to the site. Is there an option or a registry key that puts the "http://" in the bar automatically because i do not have to type that on any other computer i have ever used. I have already tried reloading IE and checked trough all the setting I could find... maybe I missed one?

Uh. I checked all the previous posts and I just realised that only the following 2 of mine had been posted already.
------- Alright. Make sure your registry settings for the following entries look exactly like the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\ DefaultPrefix default="http://"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\ Prefixes "ftp"="ftp://" "gopher"="gopher://" "home"="http://" "mosaic"="http://" "www"="http://" ------- Did you try downloading this?

Sorry for re-posting. I'm just trying to fix this as many ppl seem to be having the same prob. I'm in HK and it's 2.52 am here mate.
I'm going to sleep in like 8-10 mins.
Cheers
