Question : Linux OS boot proccess failed while "Checking filesystems"
|
|
After resetting a PC , my CentOSfails to boot up, while falling on the step "Checking filesystems".
Here is the boot proccess:
INIT: version 2.86 booting ... Starting udev: [OK] Loading default keymap(us): [OK] Setting hostname test1.localdomain [OK] No devices found Setting up Logical Volume Management: /dev/hdc: open failed: No medium found No Volume groups found [OK] Checking filesystems Warning... fsck.ext3 for device /dev/hda2 exited with signal 7. [FAILED] *** An error occurred during the file system check. *** Dropping you to a shell; the system will reboot ... ...
1) Tried to repair with rescue disc , not helped ... 2) Running fsck in the shell , dropping the same Warning . 3) All of the data are still there , nothing seems to be deleted for now .
I have a little knowledge of the Linux partitions issue and still didn't found something about signal 7.

Answer : Linux OS boot proccess failed while "Checking filesystems"

Yes, it's possible. And fsck failed therefore (error 7) But "Bus error" is really another story - either HW broken, or kernel image.
