Question : User Profile cannot be loaded

I have a vista computer that keeps saying it cannot load the users profile. and it assigns them a temp profile. but when I try to delete the user profile so I can recreate it. there is no profile associated with this users account on the computer. either under the users folder or in the system properties under the user profiles!?

any Ideas on how I can correct this?
