Question : configure windows xp back to normal state ... recover xp but do not install windows xp

hi ... okay so i have my pc not starting up in windows at all ... i tried to recover windows but i could not remember the password for my admin so that i could not recover ... anyways that is way i tried... i just need to get to windows and copy some files and softwares and then i can format the drive ... and i have no idea what to do ... can someone help me please ... thanks

Hey mate,

To make things simple for you, do the following:

What u need: another working pc

1 Remove the hard disk from your *broken pc*
2 Connect it to your *working pc* as a slave drive -> example connect it to the pc your using to connect to the web right now
3 Boot up on the 2nd pc and you will have access to the data on your *broken pc*
4 copy the data and files to CD, USB key ,etc and once done - you can format that hard disk

Hope this helps as its much quicker for a beginner
