Question : How do I Setup small Network from XP laptop to Vista Desktop for a File Transfer?
I am trying to Transfer Documents and Settings from an XP laptop to a New Vista home Premium Desktop. Instead of using the transfer cable, I have setup a mini network between the two computers. I can see both the computers on the network, and I have done EVERYTHING option imaginable as far as Allowing, and Permissions. on both the individual Folders and the entire C:\. Simple File sharing is turned ON, and I have shared EVERYTHING with EVERYONE. and made it a " Co-Owner" But I am still not being allowed to transfer files between the two.

Hi, can you please go to command prompt on Vista machine and run the following command? cacls folderpath It will display the configured permissions, just paste it here and let me check it please.
Also - do you have share permissions configured correctly? (one is Share perms and another one NTFS perms).
