Question : How can I kill IExplore?
We have dedicated application machines in the field. We DO NOT want operators to have access to IExplore. We use a program called GPanywhere to lock down the machines. HOWEVER, operators keep finding ways to circumvent the lockdown program. Im tired of this #@% cat-n-mouse game. How can you KILL IExplore? This would fix all our issues.

If you want to hear more options, you should ask for them:-) What you wanted was to stop some users from being able to run IE. If you want to load the PC's with the 3rd party tools just to restrict one application from browsing the Internet - go ahead!:-) At least we can meet on EE more often:-) If you only want to restrict browsing the Internet, you could ask in your question and you would get the answer that you pasted here - yes, the solution copied by you really works. Another possibility is to configure the GPO for software restrictions, but I didn't mention this option because you wrote something about GPAnywhere, which I assume is just another GUI for administrators not able to configure GPOs themselves. You can start the GPMC and go to either computer or user configuration (depends if you want to configure the settings for the user or computer and where did you link this GPO) -> Windows settings -> Security settings -> Software restrictions. Here you have several ways to configure the restrictions of some apps. See this article for more: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457006.aspx
