Question : Exchange Server Crashed - 500 Points, Inbound e-mails not coming through.
|
|
The former occuptant of our building was in our network room and pulled the plug on a UPS, which had our server and dsl connected to it. Both immediatley were shutdown.
I have since rebooted both of them and have them working.
However all inbound e-mails to exchange are not coming through. Also one computer is not able to connect to exchange, however, all other 8 computers have no problems connecting to exchange.
1)Why are outbound e-mails going out and not inbound? 2)Why would one computer not be able to connect to exchange.
I have the MX records pointing to the gateway ip address and made sure the firewall is set correctly.
No error messages go through either when they go to send an e-mail, it acts like it goes out just fine.
Please help, the only thing I can think of is that the mx records of the e-mail for the domain have to be pointed at the ip of the server instead of the gateway? Lost please help!

depending on your configuration:
your mx should point to whatever you external live internet connection is (router, firewall) then a rule directing all tcp 25 to the exchange server
