Question : Apache2 Virtual Hosts? not working
|
|
Hello:
I am working with XUbuntu and am trying to set up Virtual Hosts with Apache2. So far I have not been able to have my .com addresses connect.
Here is my http.conf file:
----------start of file------ NameVirtualHost *:80
ServerName www.firstdotcomaddress.com ServerAlias www.firstdotcomaddress.com *firstdotcomaddress.com DocumentRoot /xxx/xxx/first
ServerName seconddotcomaddress.com DocumentRoot /xxx/xxx/second
-----------end of file-----
I then added the names to the hosts file
-------- start of file ----
127.0.0.1 www.firstdotcomaddress.com 127.0.0.1 seconddotcomaddress.com
---- end of file ----
If I try to visit the sites on the local computer it will work properly due to the hosts entries. However, from the Internet the websites can not be accessed.
If I ping both .com's they will resolve back to the same ip of my computer. Also, if I only use one virtual host and use the ip address instead of name based then it will work and can be accessed from the net. But I need to have multiple websites on the same machine with a single ip.
Could someone suggest a solution to my problem please?
Thanks.
