Question : Multiple "IF" Statements in MS Excel

Hi experts

Please help.

I have three shifts M, A, N.
Shift hours/man = Mornings 7.2, Afternoons 8.2 &  Nights 7.8

I want to total the hours worked by saying that IF cell="M", 7.2 IF Cell="A", 8.2, IF cell="N", 7.8)

The above does not work so could do with some help please.

I've corrected the formatting for the HLOOUP() cells as they were only giving integers as results not 7.2 etc. It's in the attached file.
