Question : Backup Exec will not connect to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Mailboxes or Public Folders.
I keep getting backup jobs failing becasue Backup Exec cannot connect to the Exchange Server 2033 Mailboxes or Public Folders (it will connect to the First Storage Group). When testing the Selection List with Resource Credentials it hangs when it reaches the Mailboxes or Public Folders. Similarly when in the Selection List properties, if the Mailbox or Public Folders are highlighted, it hangs.
I am using a Service Logon which is working on other Exchange Services, it has a mailbox on one of the other Exchange Servers. The service account logon is a member of a group that has Exchange Full Admin rights. It is also a member of the local admin group. The Backup Exec Agent has been reinstalled.
Have tried a few other things as well and any help would be most helpful.
Answer : Backup Exec will not connect to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Mailboxes or Public Folders.
Make sure the mailbox for the service logon is not hidden from the "Global Address List" (from "Active Directory Users and Computers" (see figure 2 in

s.com/docs

m
)
Make sure the mailbox name is unique (

tm
describes how to check this).
If that still doesn't work, you may have to move the mailbox to the store whose mailboxes you are trying to back up.
